Partners Leisure Ltd, part of York-based marketing communications design company The Partners Group, has beaten off stiff competition from the East Midlands tourism industry to win the region's 'Gold Award for Marketing Excellence'. Partners Leisure's integrated marketing campaign on behalf of Crich Tramway Village, the Derbyshire based home of the National Tramway Museum, won the top award in the East Midlands Tourism 'oscars'. The judges praised the campaign for the wide range of promotional activities, targeting a variety of niche markets with innovative campaign ideas and a focus on PR opportunities. Commenting on the event, Richard Dickinson, chief executive of East Midlands Tourism said, "These awards celebrate and reward those organisations that consistently deliver great service and quality. They are beacons of excellence, promoting and raising the quality benchmark to which others should aspire." Receiving the award from guest of honour Kell Ryan co-founder of Ryanair, Partners Leisure managing director David Leon said, "I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of our client Crich Tramway Village. For the past five years we have been working to re-focus the marketing, re-branding the museum, producing a TV advert and implementing a co-ordinated PR campaign. The results have been fantastic with a 40% increase in visitors. This reward recognises all the hard work in achieving that success." The East Midlands Tourism Marketing Excellence award is the second major award for Partners Leisure in the past 12 months. Their campaign on behalf of York Maze won last year's York Tourism Bureau Marketing Excellence award. |
