Two photographs commissioned to mark the 20th anniversary of a York business have won a top award. The photographs taken by award-winning York photographer Paul Cooper of Bailey Cooper Photography took first and fourth place in the advertising/commercial category of the Master Photographers Association Yorkshire region awards 2008. Designed to illustrate “partnership”, the photographs were commissioned by PR and design consultancy The Partners Group to help mark its 20th anniversary. The top prize went to a rhubarb and custard image, while a photograph of a glass of gin and tonic was awarded fourth place. The photographs will be displayed in The Partners Group’s offices at 105 The Mount and an open day is planned later in the summer. The images will also feature in a 2009 calendar. Partners Group director Monica Green said: “Our success during the past 20 years has been due to the way we work in partnership with our clients and our suppliers. It’s testimony to Paul’s creativity that these fantastic images have won an award and it is an honour to display them in our offices and feature them in our anniversary calendar.” Paul Cooper, who with his team has won more than 200 awards and distinctions since 1995, said: “It’s wonderful to have clients such as Partners who trust in our creativity – to win these awards for commissioned images is the icing on the cake”. Established in 1952 and with over 2,000 members, the Master Photographers Association is the United Kingdom's only organisation for full time, qualified and professional photographers. The Partners Group was established in York in June 1988. Now, twenty years on, it is York’s largest marketing communications agency, with an 18-strong team providing PR, marketing and design support to businesses across a range of sectors. |
