Birthday bonanzas

You might remember, way back in deepest darkest January, we were looking ahead to our 30th anniversary year and writing about ideas for promoting and marking your milestone.

Fast forward – and wow, has it gone fast! – to autumn and, as well as celebrating our anniversary by running a campaign for York Mind that doubled the fundraising target, we’ve been helping our clients mark some big birthdays, too. So we thought it was about time for another post to give you more ideas and inspiration if you have an anniversary approaching.

Saddle up

In June, not to be outdone by the Tour de Yorkshire, the team at Switalskis Solicitors set themselves a gruelling physical challenge to mark their 25th anniversary and raise money for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. The Tour de Swits saw 15 Switalskis staff cycle 195 miles, visiting 10 of the firm’s 13 offices around Yorkshire. Read how they got on here.

Raise a glass

We thought our 30 years in business was impressive, but you’ve got to hand it to cereal processor Silvery Tweed Cereals, who are marking their 175th anniversary this year. And what better way to do that than a summer fete for the company’s 83 staff and a brewery collaboration culminating in an anniversary dinner, where the firm’s key suppliers had the opportunity to sample the limited edition beers Silvery Tweed created with the award-winning Born in the Borders beer makers.

£45k marks 45 years

The team at Yorkshire insurance, financial services and health and safety group, JM Glendinning don’t do anything by halves. They have set themselves an ambitious fundraising target of £45,000 through 2018 to mark their 45th year in business. From bake sales and family fun days to Apprentice-style challenges; boot camps to 45-mile hikes and the Yorkshire Three Peaks, people across the group’s five UK offices have got involved to help raise money for five causes that are close to the hearts of the JMG team. Now, not only is the group flying towards its £45k target, but all of the fundraising activity has given us plenty of great content for the ongoing PR and social media campaigns, too.

Media meet & greet

As well as recognising long serving members of the team and running a number of themed social media campaigns, integral blind specialists Morley Glass and Glazing have marked their 20th anniversary this year by welcoming trade press editors to tour their factory, hear the story of the firm’s success and its plans for the future.

Capturing a century of success

Global textiles textile testing, investigation and certification businesses Shirley Technologies and BTTG are marking their centenaries this year. With a history spanning 100 years, and a catalogue of work that includes testing NASA space suits and Formula 1 racing boots, we’re certainly not short of content for a series of videos that will help the group mark and document its landmark achievements. Watch this space for the finished footage...

If you have a landmark anniversary coming up and you’re racking your brains over how to mark the occasion, give us a shout. From fundraising initiatives to collaboration opportunities; events and awards of all shapes and sizes to legacy projects, we’ll come up with ideas that work for you and your business.
