Christmas donation covers the cost of counselling

York Mind has received a £200 Christmas gift from The Partners Group. The donation was handed over to fundraiser Holly Pollard and special guest Edgar the Elephant at the Partners Group offices on The Mount. It will pay for 40 sessions of one-to-one counselling for those on low incomes in York.

Monica Green, director of The Partners Group, said: “The donation to York Mind is part of our tradition of supporting a charity instead of buying Christmas gifts for clients.  We are pleased to support such a worthy cause.”

A York Mind fundraiser said: “Christmas can be a really stressful time for people who are experiencing mental health problems. The Partners Group donation covers the cost of 40 counselling sessions, which means that more people with mental health problems will get the help they need much sooner.”

Over the last 26 years, Partners has supported many local charities including York Against Cancer, York Nightstop, the MS Society York and District branch, York Women’s Aid refuge, Woodlands Resource and Respite Care Centre, Lidgett Grove School and food parcels for the homeless in the city.
