You know us: we wouldn't let a bit of distance stop us celebrating Yorkshire Day. Yorkshire puddings on Yorkshire Day

And that's why, last weekend, the Partners team took to their kitchens to show off their culinary skills in a Yorkshire pudding making contest to mark the annual celebration of God’s Own County on 1st August.

The idea came from senior account executive, Joe Richardson. He says: “We’ve been working remotely throughout lockdown and, while regular video calls mean we see each other often, I thought it would be good to bring out the competitive streak in the team and have some fun doing something that involved our families, too.”

The gauntlet was thrown down and, on competition day last Sunday, the team gathered on a video call to share the results of their endeavours before tucking into their Sunday roasts.

From ‘The Least Yorkshire Yorkshires’ to ‘Best Comedy Pudding’ and ‘Highest Pudding to Person Ratio’ awards, the full results will be revealed on our social media channels on Saturday 1st August to mark Yorkshire Day. We will also post photos of the puddings and invite our followers to choose an overall winner.

Yorkshire Day is celebrated annually on the 1st August and was first celebrated in 1975. The date alludes to the Battle of Minden, which was already celebrated by the Light Infantry, successors to the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, who are permitted to wear a rose in their headdress on the day.
