Effective acquisition comms for Select Bag Sealers

The Brief

When the UK's largest bag sealing equipment manufacturer Select Bag Sealers was acquired by a group of investors headed by the senior management team at specialist tape manufacturer, ProSpool, we were drafted in by the ProSpool team to help manage communications surrounding the acquisition.

Our brief was to quickly develop and deliver a stakeholder communications plan to reassure Select Bag Sealers customers that the business was in safe hands, as well as communicating the service, support and product development benefits of being part of a wider, like-minded group.

The Campaign

We worked with ProSpool's senior team to identify key stakeholders - including customers, suppliers, staff and the wider food processing industry - and quickly put together a plan of action and timeline for managing announcements about the acquisition.

We developed the content for announcements and managed communication with food industry media, as well as coordinating a regional announcement with ProSpool’s business advisers and their PR team.

The importance of communicating rapidly and effectively was crucial, given the vendor had already posted his intention to close the business.
